Ionization Chamber Detector
The Ronan Ionization Chamber Detector is uniquely constructed employing state-of-the-art technology coupled with the highest quality materials of construction available. Ronan's parallel plate technology and electrometer amplifier circuit design enable construction of a low-bias voltage ion chamber with sensitivity and stability second to none. Benefits of this design include exceptional performance in applications where ambient temperature and vibration place extreme demands on these devices. In addition to accuracy and stability, the Ronan Ionization Chamber Detector is the most rugged detector on the market today. Ronan warrants these detectors for a period of five years from the date of shipment.

Construction and Operation
The Ion Chamber is a pressurized gas filled stainless steel container with a dual electrode/parallel plate assembly. The gas is ionized by gamma radiation and produces a picoampere current directly proportional to the radiation being measured. The unique Ronan design uses a low D.C. voltage bias and a grounded case. The output is converted into a voltage signal by means of an ultra-stable electrometer amplifier. A stainless steel case seals the detector and amplifier from moisture and dirt.

Explosion proof housings or Ronan I.S. barriers are available for use in hazardous areas.
