Continuous
Level Systems
Application
solutions for continuous level measurements. Systems use non-contact
technology keeping all system components not wetted to the process. This
design enables continuous level measurements on processes with
conditions of extreme temperatures, high pressure, corrosive, abrasive,
and toxic. Often the measurement is not compromised by process changes
in temperature, pressure, and density.
The system
consists of a low energy gamma ray emitting source, detector, and
microprocessor. Mounting is dependent upon the vessel shape and size;
and is most commonly either external to the vessel or in sealed wells
inside the vessel. The source and detector are mounted to opposing sides
of the vessel allowing the process to fill between the two components.
As the process fills the vessel, the gamma energy can not penetrate the
process so the signal reaching the detector is reduced. This signal is
correlated to a level measurement, displayed in selectable units of
measure, and outputted at the microprocessor.
