Description
The Pulsar SandAlert
2000 is a product mainly used by ther oil industry to monitor
pipelines to detect when sand is being bought up with the oil or
gas.
Application
The SandAlert 2000 product is used
worldwide by the oil and gas industry to detect unwanted
particles in the flowline thereby

allowing process
change to improve the quality and efficiency of oil production,
minimising the down time to clear seperators etc.
Operation
An ultrasonic sensor, either a
PulsarGuard 2001 or 2011 (both Intrinsically safe) is fastened
to a pipeline just past an elbow or flow tee. When the oil/gas
carrying the sand arrives at the bend the sand will impact on
the inside of the pipe and produce ultrasonic energy, this is
recieved and processed by the transducer. A conditioned signal
is then sent back to the processor unit for analysis. The
processor unit is available as a fixed or portable system. The
fixed is to continuously monitor upto 32 wells and the portable
more suitable to occasional testing say when a well is being
brought on.
