PTC Electronics, Inc. is offering a form, fit and function replacement of the well known GOULD UC2 and UC3 and the SCAIME GM-2 and GM-3 series of load cells, production of which has been discontinued.

The Model SS-2 and SS-3 loadcells are built by Sherborne Instruments, a precision sensor manufacturer, under contract to PTC Electronics, Inc.

Model SS-2 (± 30 grammes) and Model SS-3 (0-60 grammes) utilize bonded semi-conductor strain gage technology which gives them very high sensitivity. This technology eliminates the inherent fragility associated with the previously used "unbonded" strain gage sensing system. In addition, the effects of eccentric loading, side loading and bending moments are minimized. A compression overload stop is provided.

Forces may be applied in either tension or compression modes.

PTC Electronics, Inc. offers a wide range of analog or digital measurement electronics for use with the SS Series of load cells.
